Guidelines for all Giving Programs

Eligibility
Not-for-profit organizations may apply for funding from The Provident Bank Foundation (PBF) as long as they meet the following criteria:
  • All organizations must be recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3) organizations in order to receive funding under any of the programs offered by PBF – no exceptions (PBF uses Guidestar to ascertain this status).
  • PBF does not provide to religious organizations, unless the organization can demonstrate to the satisfaction of PBF that the support will provide a benefit to the community as a whole and not solely benefit its religious membership or own religious community.
  • PBF does not provide support to political organizations, including organizations that may be perceived as political or have portions of its program that are deemed political in nature by PBF.
  • Organizations may only apply for funding once per calendar year.
  • All communications and questions regarding PBF and PBF funding should be addressed directly with The Provident Bank Foundation.
Application Guidelines
  • All funding requests require an application to be filled out in its entirety to be considered
  • Please read and follow all instructions and deadlines carefully
  • Ensure all applicable supporting materials are attached
  • Applications for Mini-Grants Program must be submitted via on-line application system
  • Applications for Grant Program can be obtained by contacting the Foundation
  • Sponsorship material is sufficient as application
  • Failure to follow directions may result in requests being denied
  • PBF will accept applications up to 60 days prior to the applicable deadline, however applications may not be processed until after the deadline
  • PBF will use its best efforts to communicate responses within 90 days after the applicable deadline

The Provident Bank Foundation's Grant program for 2013 allows you to apply for grants over $3,500 with a maximum of $15,000 for 2013. All 501(c)(3) organizations are eligible to apply as long as they meet all guidelines and have not received prior funding from The Provident Bank Foundation already in 2013. Organizations can apply quarterly corresponding with Foundation board meetings. Deadlines are as follows: January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. All organizations will be considered for all levels of giving and a determination will be made by the Foundation as to which level, if any, will be awarded. All requests require an application, which can be received by contacting the Foundation.

Examples of the types of grants for each Program Area are found below. This list is not all-inclusive. Please contact the Foundation if you have any questions about the program areas to which you intend to apply.

Community Enrichment: Museums, Festivals, Libraries, Hospitals (Capital/Structure), Parks/Playgrounds, Schools (Capital/Structure), Culture/Arts, Animal Shelters, Fire/Rescue/Police, Recreation Leagues.

Family Support and Youth Services: Affordable Housing, Job Readiness, Financial Literacy, Homeless Shelters, Food Pantries, Abuse Shelters, Independent Living, Soup Kitchens, Youth Programs/Camps, After-School Programs, Enrichment/Mentoring, Clubs/Street Alternatives.

Health and Human Services: Research, Prevention, Treatment Accessibility, Outreach, Screenings/Clinics, Mental Health, Hospice/Nursing Care, Eldercare.

Education: Scholarships, College Preparedness, Academic Pre K – 12, Curriculum, Class Trips, College/University expansion.

Mini-Grant Program

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year until funding is capped by Region and/or Program Area. Click below to be taken to the mini-grant application. Turn-around time for disposition is 60 days.

Sponsorship Program
Close
Sponsorships are available on a limited basis and are for the purpose of Foundation personnel to learn more about the organization it is sponsoring. Please send materials on a timely basis. A member of The Foundation will contact you if the Foundation plans on sponsoring/and or attending the event.
